Goal
It is always Davis & Green’s policy to protect the health and wellness of all of its employees. All employees must work together to help stem the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Working toward that goal, Davis & Green has implemented the following policies to help negate the spread. This is an evolving situation and our COVID-19 Taskforce is meeting daily to discuss new strategies and policies as recommended by the CDC and fellow regulatory agencies.
Environmental Conditioning
As decontaminating the workspace is crucial to help stop the spread of the virus, the following steps shall be taken in this regard. Davis & Green supervisors at all levels are to remind employees of these precautions and policies as needed.
Sick Employees
Davis & Green shall post signage which require sick individuals to stay home. Any employee showing the following symptoms should stay home. Management reserves the right to send any employees home showing the signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
Site Exposure and Notification
As this situation evolves, Davis & Green will need to deal with sites where people have been in contact with
exposed persons or have tested positive themselves. At this time Davis & Green has instituted the following
policies.
Work practices
Davis & Green recognizes that there is a chance of projects shutting down due to federal, state, or customer
recommendations. In these cases, the project foreman is to reach out to their project manager and notify
them to redistribute manpower. Additionally, if the virus spreads to a site there may be a lack of manpower
to adequately man the project at appropriate levels. In these cases, the project foreman or project manager
is to inform the project management team so they may redistribute manpower, ensuring that projects
remain on schedule whenever possible.
Davis & Green recognizes that due to site conditions and locations, common work procedures may need to
be altered to perform the work. We also recognize that there may be individuals who are uncomfortable
working in certain environments in the present climate or those who have family members more
susceptible to the virus. These individuals are to reach out to the Human Resources.
Low risk environment
According to the CDC, general construction sites are considered low risk environments and other than
maintaining a general heightened sense of hygiene and maintaining a distance of 6 feet from other workers,
general practices will not change.
High risk environments
Work environments including hospitals, health clinics, urgent cares, and the like are recognized as high risk
environments according to the CDC. In these locations additional work practices may need to be
implemented including, but not limited to, wearing respirators, mandatory hand washing, protective
gloves, and protective gowns. These preventative measures will be implemented based on facility
requirements. Direct all questions regarding these requirements to the Director of Safety.
Customers
Davis & Green is committed to assisting our customers in any way possible to combat the spread of the
Coronavirus and will work with you to keep our employees, customers, and facilities safe. We know that
each of our customers may have different policies and requirements in dealing with this unprecedented
situation. In that regard, the requirements of this policy are adaptable and will change on a site by site basis
depending on customer requirements.
Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
